Post-conference Technical Tours
On Thursday, August 31, 2023 there were three optional post-conference technical tours for NWMDER 2023 participants, at a cost of $100 per person. The tours ran concurrently.
The registration fee included transportation from the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel, Niagara Falls to the tour locations and then back to the Sheraton Fallsview.
McMaster University Nuclear Reactor and the NWMO Engineering Proof Test Facility

- 11:00-12:00 Tour of McMaster Nuclear Reactor, a medium flux reactor and the most powerful research reactor at a Canadian university
- 12:00 Depart McMaster University for NWMO Proof Test Facility, Oakville
- 12:30-13:00 Lunch provided
- 13:00-15:00 Tour of NWMO Engineering Proof Test Facility
- 15:00 Depart NWMO for drop-off at Bronte GO Station
- ~15:05 Arrive at Bronte GO Station
Tour 2 – Ontario Power Generation’s Nuclear Sustainability Services Pickering Waste Management Facility (NSS-PWMF)
- 08:30 Depart Sheraton Fallsview Hotel
- 12:00-13:00 Lunch provided
- 13:00 Depart for Pickering Nuclear Generating Station (PNGS)
- 13:30-15:30 Tour of NSS-PWMF
- 15:30 Depart PNGS/NSS for downtown Toronto (location to be advised)
